Go-ahead for over 80 homes on former sawmill site
Plans for a major housing development in Longtown have been given the green light. More than 80 homes will be built at the former sawmill site in Netherby Road,Longtown.
First proposed in 2008, the plans have been revised a number of times, but the go-ahead was officially sanctioned at the end of October.
The scheme for the 4.8 acre site involves a combination of two, three and four-bedroom properties.
The make-up of the development was changed earlier this year because of the effects of the recession and our client Briery Homes Limited decided not to include flats or maisonettes in its plans. The new plans will create 82 homes consisting of traditional and mews-style dwellings.
The former sawmill site has been vacant for a number of years Thomas Consulting have provided site investigation and environmental services as well as highway and drainage design and structural engineering design..
