Work Progresses on a major re-development of historic city site
Lawson's Quay is major redevelopment in the heart of the city of Lancaster
In the 17th and 18th Century Lancaster was the third largest port in England and Lawsons quay was at the centre of the sugar cane industry. Today the site is the scene of a major new 21st century commercial development When complete the site will comprise of a business village positioned above a multi-storey car park with retail frontage. The offices on Caton Road will provide approximately 40,000 sq ft (3,716 sq m) of undivided office space over three floors and on Bulk Road there will be a terrace of two to four storey individual offices varying in size from around 500 sq ft (50 sq m) to 1,800 sq ft (170 sq m), but could be combined to respond to specific needs, all enjoying their own street level access. The proposed development includes the opportunity for a major hotel scheme at the gateway to Lancaster City Centre and at the heart of the surrounding district. Thomas Consulting have been involved with the project from its earliest conception, dealing with site investigation and accommodation works. We are currently working closely with the local authority in determining environmental issues and validating the site following the removal of waste and excavated material. Preliminary structural and civil engineering design is now well progressed. For further details of this exciting new development in the heart of this historic city visit http://www.lawsonsquay.co.uk/
