Thomas consulting provided Structural Engineering design and Planning Supervision Services. The Architect was HPA and the Contractor was Thomas Armstrong Ltd. The project is situated in close proximity to the Rylands House Listed Building and the Local Authority Conservation Officer required the proposed building to be faced in large sandstone ashlar block masonry to complement the existing. This involved the use of mechanical lifting techniques in laying the ashlar masonry to avoid repetitive manual handling by site operatives.
