St Martins College, Lancaster

The second phase of a new teaching block for St. Martins College, Lancaster working with HPA Lancaster architects.

Thomas Consulting provided structural engineering design services for this steel framed building. The roof frame employed stressed skin, perforated metal decking to improve structural performance, ensure an economical design and enhance interior design detailing. Extensive use of structural steelwork framing ensured that the tight build programme was achieved and permitted extensive use of curtain walling materials.
