Century House

Located on a busy junction of the main thoroughfare through Shrewsbury Town Centre, Century House presented a number of challenging engineering issues.

Narrow, busy roads and a tight site required buildability, environmental and safety issues to be carefully considered by the design team and our client. The site was originally occupied by a cinema and this was demolished to create a prestigious 4 / 5 storey town centre residential and commercial building.

Thomas Consulting site survey work ascertained that the ground conditions required the use of reinforced concrete and pile foundations.
