Access Bridge over Liggard Brook Lytham

This small access bridge was designed by our engineers to provide access for heavy maintenance vehicles to a North West Water SWT.

The bridge had to be constructed with access from one side of the brook only. Poor ground conditions required the use of piled Bank Seat substructure. The deck consisted of pre-cast pre-stressed standard "T" beams and in-situ concrete infill. The design had to meet exacting rquirements of the Local Authority and Environment Agency conditions.

Thomas Consulting engineers also designed the car park and access road that provides much needed parking space for local offices and the sports field adjacent to the bridge.
